Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)
EYC Mount Dora is the youth group for St. Edward's Episcopal Church serving middle school and high school youth. We meet every Sunday from noon to 2pm, with lunch provided.Building Relationships
Our weekly meetings start with (free) lunch and time to just hang out and talk, and finish with free-time to continue building relationship. Additionally, we do a variety of fun, recreational activities outside of our weekly meetings.
Bible Study
The core of our weekly meetings is our Bible study discussions. We learn how to read and study the Scriptures, and practice good study and application of the Word through group conversation. Our goal is to develop sound interpretation techniques and grow in our love for the Word of God.
Community Service
Students are encouraged to explore ways to live out their faith through a variety of ministry opportunities and community service projects. Out goal is to serve locally, and through service trips like Soul in the City (organized with other youth groups in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida).

Deacon Dan was able to drop in and bring pizza dinner for about 60 students at @mtdorahigh as they do their final prep for their production of Cinderella over the next few days.
They`ve been working hard to get ready and it`s now almost time for the show!
In these pics, you`ll also see the prayer for a theater performance that we`ve been praying over them.
And thank you to @stthomaseustis for supporting this and helping make it happen!

Our #EYCmountdora youth reciting the Collect for Palm Sunday...
"Almighty and everliving God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."

Had a great Stations of the Cross ✝️ (Youth Prayer Experience) and worship night (with @_amyyyates).
It was a great way to wrap up a busy Good Friday. These youth have such an amazing heart to pray and worship together, so it`s cool to be able to create these sacred spaces for them to get together for times like these.

The #EYCmountdora youth reciting the Collect for the Fifth Sunday in Lent...
"Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."

So grateful for our partnership with the MDHS Theater Department and a great "Blessing of the Stage" event before their big end-of-year production of Cinderella.
Deacon Dan took food for about 50 students in the theater program and then led a short lesson (on the spiritual symbolism of water) and a prayer for them and the production.
Then, with the guidance of Madame Perrault (wife of Father Matthew at St. Thomas in Eustis), the students spent some time blessing one another with a sprinkle of water.
Their heart for each other and the work they do together to put on these shows is beautiful and inspiring. And it was great to be able to be a blessing to these youth!
Looking forward to serving them more again in the future!

Our #EYCmountdora youth doing Collect for the Fourth Sunday in Lent...
"Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."

The Collect (prayer) for the third Sunday in Lent, by our #EYCmountdora youth...
"Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."

Our #EYCmountdora youth doing the Collect for the Second Sunday in Lent.
"O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy: Be gracious to all who have gone astray from your ways, and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and hold fast the unchangeable truth of your Word, Jesus Christ your Son; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."
